Staff from the px Group site at St Fergus Gas Terminal and the px Group office at Balmoral Park in Aberdeen have donated their “Christmas Lunch” to Peterhead Salvation Army. A donation of £4,500 was given to the Salvation Army in lieu of px staff being able to celebrate in their normal way due to COVID restrictions. The money from the St Fergus teams was matched by px Group and NSMP, owners of the St Fergus Gas Terminal.
Major Caroline Buchan from Peterhead Salvation Army said: “The Salvation Army would normally provide Christmas Lunch to less fortunate members of the community, however due to COVID this year’s lunch will not take place. The money being donated will be used to ensure that food packages are given to those in need, to help them celebrate in the traditional Christmas fashion.“
px Group Asset Manager Eddie Wallace said: “This year has been incredibly challenging for all of us and as we are unable to celebrate Christmas with colleagues in the usual way, we decided we would instead like to give something back to the community. The Salvation Army provides an essential lifeline to those in need and we are delighted that we are able to support them.”
