Keaton Hold
Graduate Mechanical Engineer
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at px Group, Keaton has shown his dedication to the role but has also become a role model to the next generation of talent.
Recent winner of the NEPIC Young Achiever Award 2025, Keaton Hold, demonstrates the opportunities in the business and the benefits of starting in a graduate position.
Keaton joined our Graduate scheme in July 2023 at our Stockton office as Graduate Mechanical Engineer and has since received the benefits of hands-on experience, professional development, networking opportunities and career progression. One of Keaton’s main achievements was spearheading the comprehensive planning and execution of a critical tank outage and inspection for a 60-year-old Methanol storage tank.
The Methanol storage project was particularly challenging due to the history of the tank and the significant emerging repairs to the tank floor. Keaton’s responsibilities included: Strategic Planning, Team Coordination involving six different contractors, Risk Management, Resource Allocation, Quality Assurance and Problem-Solving. The 3-month project not only extended the operational life of the storage tank by 15 years, but also enhanced its mechanical integrity leading to increased safety and reliability, demonstrating my ability to manage complex, high-stake projects effectively.
Keaton has since volunteered multiple times at Egglesliffe school and sixth form college, mentoring the year 7-10 robotics club as part of his STEM Ambassador role. In 2024, Keaton volunteered his time to help the Year 7 students build and code their ‘spike robot’ for the first Lego League competition. He had the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their own academic and personal growth and took this opportunity by mentoring the students on a weekly basis to ensure they were ready in time for a competition.

As the Settlements Co-Ordinator at px Group, Charlotte is a great example of new talent in our business. Starting as a Settlements Apprentice in September of 2015, she shows an inspiring journey and huge career growth.
From Apprentice to Leader.
Charlotte began her career with px Group after successfully interviewing for an apprenticeship role in the Settlements Department within the Energy Trading Sector in 2015. Alongside her day-to-day responsibilities, she completed a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration through a combination of on-the-job learning and day release study at Middlesbrough College.
Over the following two years, Charlotte successfully completed her apprenticeship and was offered a full-time position as a Settlements Administrator. She chose to pause her education to fully immerse herself in the industry, recognising the complexity and vastness of working across electricity and gas markets. During his time, she dedicated herself to understanding px Group's values, vision, and future direction.
As her knowledge and confidence grew, Charlotte became the key point of contact for Settlements. Her hard work and commitment led t her promotion to Settlements Coordinator - her first step into management, where she became responsible for her first direct report. Supported by px Group's comprehensive management training, she embraced the challenges and opportunities that came with the role.
In September 2024, the Settlements team expanded further with the addition of a Data Technician Apprentice, reporting directly to Charlotte. She describes leading the same department where she once started as an apprentice as a "small team but a huge achievement."
Looking ahead, Charlotte is eager to continue her professional development. Over the next three to five years, she aims to enrol in a Level 5 Diploma in Management Practice and Business Management — building on the foundation of her earlier apprenticeship. She hopes this will not only strengthen her own skills but also inspire her team, proving that learning on the job can go hand-in-hand with leading a department.

Josh Cosby
Maintenance Management System and Compliance Coordinator
As the Maintenance Management System and Compliance Co-Ordinator at px Group, Josh is a great example of new talent in our business. His favourite quote, “Believe you can and you’re halfway there,” perfectly encapsulates his approach to life and work.
Josh’s story here began when he started his career as a Business Services Apprentice. px Group had been recommended to him and after a bit of research into what px was all about, Josh was convinced it was the right move to make. Working with people at all levels right across the company, he quickly made a great impression with his enthusiasm and competence.
After successfully completing his apprenticeship, Josh was delighted when he was awarded the NEPIC Supply Chain Apprentice of the Year award – a moment of great pride for Josh and for those who had supported him and his development.
When Josh's huge potential was recognised, he transferred into a different part of the business in a more technical role, where he is learning a whole new set of skills. No two days are alike for Josh. His typical day is a dynamic blend of supporting colleagues with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) queries, managing data modifications, executing projects, and general administrative tasks—a role that keeps him at the heart of our operations.
Josh says that the people at px Group are his favourite aspect of the job. And his advice to others considering an apprenticeship? “Seize the opportunity for a perfect balance of education and hands-on experience.”
Looking ahead, Josh is embarking on a degree apprenticeship within the Operations & Maintenance Support Team (OMST), eager to integrate new knowledge into his role. Vicky Robinson
Head of Finance
Vicky’s journey with us began at the company’s inception in 2002, and her progression from a receptionist at Seal Sands to the financial helm is a story of unexpected turns and steadfast ambition.
Starting her career with a passion for animals at the RSPCA, Vicky discovered her true calling lay elsewhere. Her path to leadership at px Group was not left to chance but marked by deliberate growth and recognition. Vicky’s influence has touched every facet of the company—from overseeing transitions to nurturing new teams and sites.
Amidst her demanding role, Vicky pursued personal and professional development, undertaking a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship at Teesside University, supported by px Group. Her dedication to continuous learning and adaptability has been pivotal in navigating the company’s evolving strategies and structure.
Vicky’s tenure is characterized by a symbiotic relationship with px Group, growing alongside the company’s expansion. Vicky’s philosophy is one of pushing boundaries and embracing change, a mindset that has cemented her as a cornerstone of px Group’s enduring ‘family-feel’ and success.
Vicky says: “A position like Head of Finance seems pretty straightforward to most, with spreadsheets, group accounts and audits part of the routine. At px Group that’s different, the company has recognised my own passion for our people, and I’ve been given the flexibility to make an impact in other departments, as well as develop my own professional career. I think for some it’s easy to feel ‘stuck’ after being in one place for so long, but it doesn’t feel that way to me.”
“I’ve been encouraged to push myself, express my thoughts and given the flexibility to make changes and try new things. Had I not felt comfortable doing that, I’m not sure I’d have reached the position I’m in today.”
Jake Woods
Digital Transformation Manager
Jake's tenacity, creative solution-driven problem solving, and effective communication across all levels of the business are just some of the reasons he has been fast-tracked from the graduate team to the leadership team at Saltend in just three years.
Jake’s outstanding ability was first noticed when he joined the graduate scheme at the Saltend Chemicals Park, which was owned by BP at the time.
After just two years, Jake was promoted to Asset Mechanical Engineer, responsible for all logistics and utilities at Saltend, making him one of the youngest Asset Engineers the park has ever had.
Following the sale of the Saltend Chemicals Park to px Group in 2018, Jake was again promoted to become an essential member of the site’s leadership team.
Along the way, Jake has come to deeply understand and play a key role in numerous parts of the business at px Group. Even with his considerable responsibilities, he has found time to develop new solutions, working on a combined workflow review process and innovative visualisation system. He was encouraged to pitch his idea to management, who took it on board and this has now expanded to the point of being a core aspect of px Group’s digital solutions offering, led by Jake.
Jake’s brilliant career progression is testament to the inclusive, talent-fostering environment that we encourage on a daily basis. Jake himself is proof that great talent can make a great difference, but only if it’s recognised.
Jake said, “I never thought that a graduate scheme would lead to what has certainly been a whirlwind ride. px Group has provided me with ample amount of freedom and has given me a chance to grow, not just in my day job, but also explore my other passions, namely technology.”
“I think, as a company, we’re not bogged down by rigid, hierarchical structures that have the tendency to stifle new solutions, creativity and ambitions. I’ve certainly benefited from that at px Group – I know my managers will always take the time to listen to a well-supported idea.”
