px was awarded the contract to supply project management and owners’ engineering services (PMOE) to look after its client’s, MGT Teesside Limited, interests throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of the project to develop the plant.

The Tees renewable energy plant project is anticipated to be completed in 2020 and will be able to generate up to 299MWe of electricity, enough to supply 600,000 homes.
It is one of the most important thermal power plant construction projects in the UK for decades.
Tees renewable energy plant will use modern circulating fluidised bed technology to generate power. It’s carbon footprint will be far smaller than traditional fossil fuel based energy generation facilities.
The plant will be fuelled by wood pellets and chips from certified sustainable forestry sources in the United States and Europe.
Regular audits will ensure compliance with strict sustainability criteria.
