Paul McCann joined px Group as Site Director in 2016 at the Teesside Gas Processing Plant. He was responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team of staff which safely processed up to 6% of UK gas from both North and Southern North Sea assets via the CATS pipeline. During his tenure, px Group delivered the asset’s most significant modification and outage period in the site’s history, with zero significant incidents/injuries and within budget expectations.
Prior to joining px Group, Paul spent 7 years at Norwegian infrastructure Operator Gassco in the UK and Norway, where he held roles in SHEQ and latterly senior Operations management at the Langeled Receiving Facility in Easington, East Yorkshire.
Prior to Gassco, Paul has held SHEQ, risk and project management roles within WGPSN, Redhall Group and Norwich Union. Paul played a key role in setting up the Gassco AS UK business and team from a blank start to safely transition and operate the key UK strategic asset for its Norwegian owners.
Paul has a BSc (Hons) in Safety & Environmental Management from Hull University, holds IEng status with the Engineering Council and is also a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Safety Practitioner with IOSH.
Paul represents px Group within North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), Oil & Gas UK (OGUK) and Step Change in Safety (SCiS).
