O&M Let us take the strain

Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Management
Sample Image

Safety is the number one px value.  We are committed to world class standards of safety and environmental control and avoiding all cases of workplace ill health, injuries and incidents, including damage to the environment.  This is to be achieved by the creation of working conditions that encourage positive attitudes and contributions from all personnel and underpinned by the px Safety, Health and Environmental Policy. We also have a Corporate SHE roadmap that sets the direction for our strategy regarding all SHE issues.

Accidents and ill-health cost time and money and these costs can have a dramatic impact on business. The true cost of accidents can be shown as an ice-berg where for every insurable loss there are greater hidden costs and issues.Reputational damage can be far worse than economic consequences!

Safety Health and Environmental

px takes specific actions to promote a positive SHE culture. Regular surveys are conducted throughout the organisation involving all personnel who are actively encouraged to participate. These surveys are used to identify areas, both good and bad, which are incorporated within the individual operating businesses’ SHE plan. The plan provides a clear and cohesive SHE strategy by identifying clear objectives for the relevant site, acknowledging strengths and detailing how improvements can be made.

Performance standards are established by the SHE plan and are measured to show when and where improvement is needed. Our performance to date is shown in our SHE statistics.

A comprehensive SHE Intranet Site that includes the SHE management system documentation is available to the whole px group. SHE communication is throughout the organisation including regular review meetings, reports and newsletters. px also actively encourages participation with the relevant agencies and neighbours to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice.

px has a comprehensive monitoring programme including both active and reactive monitoring, for example:-

  • Inspections – site, office, warehouse etc.

  • Audits – QMS/ EMS, Contractor (pre and post contract award)
