Teesside Power Station is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station, capable of generating 1875 MW onto the National Grid and providing up to 800 tonnes per hour process steam to the neighbouring industrial complex. It is the largest gas powered station in Europe.
The station has turbines that are capable of running on liquid and gas fuels. PX operated, maintained, traded and managed the facility and its associated contracts on behalf of its owners, Teesside Power Limited (TPL), until 31 March 2008 in the run up to the sale of TPL to new owners Electrabel (a subsidiary of SUEZ) and Gas de France
