specifics:

Strategically located on the banks of the Humber, Saltend Chemicals Park is a 370acre Top Tier COMAH site with a collaborative cluster of businesses producing more than a million tonnes of chemicals every year.

The site is home to global and blue chip firms including INEOS, BP, Nippon, Engie, Nippon Gohsei, Vivergo, Perenco, Air Products and Tricoya. The chemicals these, and other businesses produce at Saltend Chemicals Park are used in everyday items including paints, packaging, pharmaceuticals, paints and clothing.

We successfully completed our acquisition of Saltend Chemicals Park from BP Chemicals Limited on the 14th March 2018.

Our inhouse team managed the acquisition and completed technical due diligence, commercial negotiations and the replication and replacement of all IT infrastructure and control systems.

Since the acquisition we are responsible for the operations and maintenance of all infrastructure.

This includes:

  • utility distribution systems for steam, power, gas, water and effluent
  • bulk storage tanks
  • jetty and road loading
  • site central control room
  • workshops
  • laboratories
  • office buildings

The complex deal also included the transfer of around 50 employees from BP to px group as well as the management responsibility of more than 150 contract staff.

During the acquisition period, px group completed 15 new sub-leases back to BP, which will remain on Saltend Chemicals Park as a site tenant, operating its acetyls manufacturing business, as well as its petrochemicals technology centre.
